Privacy
The short version: we ask for an email to save you a seat. We never share it.
What we collect
- Your email, when you join the waitlist.
- Your person's first name, only if you type it. It is optional. We never ask for their contact details.
- Your pair code and, if you arrived through someone's link, the code from that link, so we can match the two of you on the list. Also the language of the page and the date and time you joined.
Where it is kept
Your sign-up is stored in our database at Cloudflare, the company that hosts this site. To keep bots out we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are a person without making you solve puzzles. We do not sell or share your email with anyone else.
Your pair link
Your pair code comes from a one-way hash of your email, signed with a secret key: your email cannot be read back or guessed from the code. The link carries that code and, if you typed one, your person's first name. Whoever you send the link to will see that name.
What we use it for
To tell you when your seats open on YapOn and to write to you about the launch. Nothing else.
Analytics
When it is switched on, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate. It does not use cookies. Fonts and images are served from this site.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete your sign-up at any time. A contact email will be listed here before launch.
